When packing any glass or plastic items that will be exposed to cold, use extra padding and sturdy boxes to avoid breakage.
Remove batteries from all your electronic devices and store the batteries at room temperature. If you are storing your electronics in outside storage, make sure to let it gradually reach room temperature, for at least 24 hours, before plugging in or turning on. To protect your wood furniture, wax them one to two weeks before moving them into cold storage. Also, protect them with an insulated moving blanket and/or industrial strength plastic.
A pressure washer needs to be drained and flushed with antifreeze as part of the process for winter storage. Garden hoses must be completely drained with all knots removed before coiling and storing.
