How do I rent a storage unit?

At Riel Park RV & Self Storage, we make renting a storage unit quick and easy.  Come into the office during office hours, call us or book online.  You can reserve a unit online or even complete the full move in process.  We also offer contactless bookings.

What do I need to rent a storage unit?

When you come in to rent a storage unit, you will need a piece of photo ID and some form of payment to pay the first month’s rent.

Do I have to pay a damage deposit or any other fees?

No. At Riel Park RV & Self Storage, we do not charge a damage deposit or security deposit. All you pay is your rent, administration fee and insurance (if applicable).

What’s the difference between drive-up storage and climate controlled?

Drive-up storage is located outside, and you can drive your vehicle right up to its door. They are not temperature controlled and are much like a garage.

Climate-controlled storage units are located inside our main building. They are temperature controlled and great for storing your more delicate items.

Do I have to rent for a certain length of time?

We offer both long term and month to month contracts. Whichever suits your needs better.

When is my rent due?

Your first rent payment will be made payable on the day you move in and this becomes your monthly payment date, also referred to as your anniversary date.

What payment types do you take?

We take cash, debit, e-transfer, American Express, Visa and Mastercard. We can also set you up for automatic monthly billing through a credit card or set you up for EFT as well.

What if my due date is on a day you are not open?

If your rental due date is on a Sunday or a holiday, you can always come in the day before to pay your rent. You can also go on our website and “Claim Your Account” and make payment on your unit anytime, 24/7.

Do I need insurance for my storage unit?

Yes. Insurance is required on all storage units. We offer third party storage insurance at a great rate. You can also provide us with a copy of your insurance certificate if your self storage unit is covered by your homeowners or renter’s insurance.

Do I need insurance on my RV that is stored there?

Yes. You are required to have insurance through your own provider on your RV while in storage. We do not offer insurance for your vehicle or trailer while in storage.

What kind of security do you have?

We have a fully fenced and paved facility with electronic personal access code entry. Video surveillance, fully lit facility and mobile security patrols.

How often can I access my storage unit?

We have extended access hours from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week. You can access your storage unit or RV as much as you like between these times.

What can I NOT store in my storage unit?

Hazardous materials, illegal substances, explosives, flammable liquids, food or other perishable items are not allowed. If you are not sure if something is allowed to be stored in your storage unit, ask one of our friendly customer service representatives and they can help you out.

Can I store a motorized vehicle in my storage unit?

Yes. You are welcome to store your car, motorcycle, ATV, etc. in our drive-up outdoor storage unit. These will need to be insured by your own provider as our contents insurance does not cover motorized vehicles.

Do I have to provide a lock for my unit?

Yes. Our storage units have roll up doors similar to a garage and they require a lock. We have different options that we sell instore if needed.

Can I change the size of my storage unit later?

Yes. If you decide down the road that you need a larger or smaller storage unit, come into or contact the rental office and we will be happy to transfer you into the size of unit that you require.

Do you sell packing supplies?

Yes. We sell everything you need to get started. From wardrobe, mirror and packing boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, tape, moving blankets, mattress and sofa protectors, dish and glass packing kits and stretch wrap, we have you covered. We even sell a variety of locks for you to secure your storage unit.

Do I have to give notice when I’m moving out of my unit?

Yes. We require 30 days notice when you decide to move out of your unit.
